When it comes to holidays I prefer the active ones. Surely a couple of hours on a sunbed with a good book is fine but if I can chose I'd much rather go for a week skiing or hiking. Now with younger kids hiking has been off our holiday options the last years, but skiing is very much up there. This Easter we tried something new. Skiing in the Swedish "Alps". Below you find a few snaps from our stay at Ramundberget which can hopefully inspire you to come to this beautiful country. Ramundberget is in the district of Härjedalen which is about in the middle of Sweden. Still it took us two days to drive there from the southern tip. So you can just imagine how long Sweden is. If you want to find out more about this wonderful low key resort that offers both downhill slopes and fantastic touring and cross-country skiing facilities you can follow this link:
RAMUNDBERGET. And if you want the same cool soft shell jacket from MOLO (the blue one) as my son you click
here. :)
Slopes for all - blue till black and off pist.
Restaurant "Tusen" at the top of the ski slope served local dishes like Smoked reindeer, Arctic Char (local fish) and Chantarelles (Girolles) soup.
The boys preferred the runs through the woods. They managed much better with their shorter skiis than us.
The tracks on the way to ösjöstugan and a new baked waffle.... :)
Snowman making was a popular activity apart from skiing.
At the wonderful Fjällgården. Hotel and resturant in traditional style. Lovely food and atmosphere!
Happy Easter!
