New Alice Mary Lynch Exhibition

ALICE MARY LYNCH, DOLL MAKER
ANIMAL CABARET
''the winter air was crisp and cold but a warm light glowed in the undergrowth in the early hours of the morning......''
Alice Mary Lynch's dolls hover between the animal world and cabaret glitz.
She grew up in rural England with artist parents and made dolls from an early age,
scouring flea markets with a magpie's instinct for curiosities to inhabit her fairytale world.
After working as a designer for Christian Dior and Sonia Rykiel, she now dedicates her time to creating these other worldly creatures.
They are brought to life in her Paris studio and hand-crafted from vintage fabrics and treasures.
She has recently undertaken commissions for designers and film makers and made dolls to commemorate anniversaries, births and weddings.
In her first solo exhibition there is a haunting black hare, a beaded swan, a poetic stag, love cats and a dark princess.
It will be a curious cabaret of characters, each armoured with crystals and telling their own story.
